We, the following concerned residents, strongly oppose the proposed 30-house Middleburg Preserves development in historic St. Louis, VA by MOJAX LLC. Please join our strong opposition to this housing development. The 19-acre property in question is located in the rural and historic village of St. Louis, the first (and largest) African-American community in Loudoun County after the Civil War. Some of this property is wetlands and has an African American cemetery on it, with 50+ graves. Further research needs to be done on the cemetery and the effects that 30 additional houses will have on the water table in St Louis (a village unfortunately known for sub-standard wells).
The proposed development borders on two sides the historic Mt. Zion Baptist Church, founded in 1885, and is a short distance from the historic Banneker Elementary School, erected in 1948 for African-American children from Middleburg and nearby Marble Quarry. The time for us to act on this is now!

By signing, you consent to your name being used publicly in the opposition. We hope that you will also want a yard sign for your property to proudly show your opposition.

We need your support, prayers and help to oppose MOJAX LLC. and this 30-house development.
Thank you!

Please do not let this development go through. It is sited on grounds with both historical and spiritual significance. If approved it will erase an important cultural and historical place.

This proposal and the Banbury Cross proposal east of Middleburg are completely inappropriate for rural western Loudoun. Both of them have unproven water supplies and severely impact rural roads. Each home brings MULTIPLE car trips! Oppose both developments or watch our countryside be destroyed.

As this is a by right application it will not come before the Loudoun BOS for a vote. My concerns...this development can negatively impact the water yields of existing wells and increase land values of existing homes in St Louis.

Thirty homes is 30 too many. To build on this land is disgraceful and insensitive. It is a reflection of our current culture. This area cannot handle 60 new cars to add to already crowded roads. No! Leave history alone. Why not celebrate and educate people about this area instead of slapping up cookie cutter homes.

This will be an absolute shame to take away the greatest thing about this area of St.Louis,VA. The quiet, quaint peacefulness is what make the area what it is.

The value of these homes to anyone will be appreciably less when there is less and less water available and people find themselves having to drill new wells every few years. Not good for the current residents or the prospective ones.
