I had to pleasure and privilege of attending K-5th grade at Banneker Elementary as did my younger sister. It would be tragic to lose not only this school but, this irreplaceable historical community as well. From my experience at Banneker, I know that this small school is so beneficial to all of the students that have ever graced those halls and ever will. The small environment allows for more one-on-one attention between students and teachers which every parent should want for their child. PLEASE SAVE THIS COMMUNITY!

If we are to support our rural economy and preserve western Loudoun, our county must solve the issue of by-right development. A Transfer of Development Rights program is critical to that goal.

Middleburg Preserve is a prime example of the very real threat of by-right development in western Loudoun. Our western Supervisors frequently boast that they “did not allow one new home in the Rural Policy Area” in the new Comprehensive Plan, ignoring the potential for 11,000 new homes to be built here by-right, without county approval.
That’s why it is so important that we elect a local leaders who understand the details of zoning policy, who have lived or are sympathetic to the impact of by-right development on rural communities, and who show up for their constituents.

Please do not let this development go through. It is sited on grounds with both historical and spiritual significance. If approved it will erase an important cultural and historical place.
