The GRID building is closing at 10 pm on weekdays and 8pm on weekend effective from today (21st March). As the exams are near and GRID is a good place to study in group. We solicit your support to petition the University for the GRID building to be kept open as before (24x7).
Together with the support of our fellow HWU students we can achieve this aim and excel in the exams.

GRID provides a good working environment when home might not be suitable. Having grid open allows me to work whenever suits me and not risk waking up people living in my flat
With the upcoming exams and deadlines but also ramadan studying during the day will be a little difficult however once the fast opens that's when most muslim students would like to study so closing the grid by 10 is only a disadvantage for them
With lectures being during the day I do most my revision in the evening. I have to use software like aspen hysys which is exclusive to university computers.
Many people require a 24 hour study space and that isn't always provided when at their own personal flat. Please keep the 24 study space at the GRID 24 hours as a lot of study tike for many students will be lost otherwise resulting in worse grades than rightfully deserved.
It’s the only place that we can study on campus and it being open late makes it easier to study after work and when it’s the easiest for us to get hours in
We need grid for studies at night, especially during exam time.
HWU has a dire shortage of 24hr study areas. There is no good reason to close the grid early.

The grid is a staple learning area where students who need the flexibility of late hour study spaces can go. If you have a blended learning system in place why contradict it by closing the only area of the uni open 24/7
