HWU has a dire shortage of 24hr study areas. There is no good reason to close the grid early.

The grid is a staple learning area where students who need the flexibility of late hour study spaces can go. If you have a blended learning system in place why contradict it by closing the only area of the uni open 24/7

GRID provides a good working environment when home might not be suitable. Having grid open allows me to work whenever suits me and not risk waking up people living in my flat

As Ramadan is about to start very soon, most of us would begin our study schedule after sun set as we would be fasting during the day. We together feel the grid needs to be open for 24 hours for us to prapare for exams effectively.

We need a space fully accessible at all times. 10am is far too early. This should remain a safe space for us all to access

With ramadan coming up I would prefer to work at during the night as this is during the hours in which I feel most energised as I will be fasting during the day. The grid has all the relevant software I need for my course and would help me so much with my revision for my the upcoming exams if it was kept open later

With the upcoming exams and deadlines but also ramadan studying during the day will be a little difficult however once the fast opens that's when most muslim students would like to study so closing the grid by 10 is only a disadvantage for them

With lectures being during the day I do most my revision in the evening. I have to use software like aspen hysys which is exclusive to university computers.

Coming up to exam time not everyone has facilities at home, no other uni is doing this heriot watt need to use their common sense.
