New Equipment for 9-14 yr olds is being planned for King George V Playing field. It will attract youths from all areas around us. There is no one to oversee this is the age group going to facilitate of it. 100 Youths on the field last week drinking alcohol and taking drugs culminating in a residents window being smashed, cars & garden ornaments along the Loose Rd damaged. No guarantee of police attending if we have a problem. On going costs of maintenance and repairs after vandals will have to be met by local residents in council tax to the Parish Council. No time limits of when the field equipment can be used so residents endure people coming out of the pubs and clubs and then using it in the early hours of the morning. The caretaker took 2.5 hours to clear up lots of beer bottles and lots of packets of drugs from the field after one gathering last week, which we are paying for and will increase with more attracted from outside the area. There are no toilets so the back of the pavilion now reeks of urine which is only going to get worse. We have a lovely area for locals to enjoy and would like to keep it that way. If it is to be erected then we want it away from the residents.
