my beautiful boy suffers from this condition, it affects the shape and growth of a babys skull. He has to wear a helmet for 23 hours a day. currently treatment is not available on the NHS as it is seen as a cosmetic issue!!!! Forcing parents to seek out private treatment costing thousands of pounds. Its about time somebody made a change, treatment should be available on the NHS or at the very least awareness should be made in the form of leaflets given to all new mummy and daddy's ITS TIME TO MAKE A CHANGE!

As a mom 2 two boys who had plagio...I know it's not just cosmetic...my oldest has a misaligned jaw his bite has ALWAYS been off and 3 sets of tubes in his ears. If things are not rounded out making space for the body to preform how it should leads to other issues down the line!! My youngest had a odd bite as well and after his doc band the dentist saw a HUGE improvement!!
my son also suffers from this condition, and it is absolutely shocking that we have to fund it ourselfs, this can lead to problems in later life if not corrected, which can include poor fitting safety helmets, and spectacles also.
These children would face a life of ridicul and low self esteem growing up with misshapen heads when there is a perfectly good treatment available. The parents should at the very least be made aware at a very early stage that there is a solution
my daughter also has severe Plagiocephaly and brachycephaly her helmet has worked wonders - it should be available on ALL NHS trusts!
This isnt cosmetic surgery is a disgrace that actual cosmetic surgery does get done for some people on the NHS and parents are having to pay thousands of pounds to help their child live a normal like. Its time for a change it should not even be an issue!
My nephew has this and no way we could afford a helmet at these prices
Anything to help the gorgeous little man Shanny!! Hopefully the NHS will start taking plagiocephaly more seriously xx
