The Utah Legislative Body has decided to remove the Philo T. Farnsworth Statue from the Capital Building in Washington D.C. We are petitioning that the statue be returned to Rigby Idaho to be used as an educational tool and a celebration of our heritage. Philo's invention of the television began with an idea he had while plowing the farm fields in Rigby. He attended and graduated from Rigby High School, and his legacy has had a large impact on our local town. Streets, Schools, and more have been dedicated to him because of his innovative spirit, and drive to change the world. Philo once said, "The difficult we do right away, the impossible takes slightly longer."
With this mantra in mind, its our goal to bring Philo's statue to Rigby where Philo would want it.

From what I understand, this is kind of a done deal. The Utah legislature is putting it in Beaver Utah where he was born. I would love to have it here!
Such a huge part of our local history. Would be great to see it downtown
he came up with the idea right here in the field. it only makes sense for the statue to be in rigby.
My kids go to school in the district and we always talk about him. Keep him here where he started.

I spent most of my early childhood in Ucon and my mom's family has been in the area since it's foundings... Philo is a big part of our history
