Petition - Woody Views Way in Robina

I concur with the petition to have woody views way a no parking zone during the use of the stadium. It creates safety hazards.

I agree with the content of the petition, but believe it should not exclude approved visitors to our property who could perhaps be granted a pass of some sort.

we have such a bad experience from bad manner people . we cant stand anymore. please found good solution.

It seems that a $150 parking fine is not deterring people (assuming it's even getting collected - sounds like many people just don't pay the fines at all). If you carpool with a few friends to the game, it's actually a pretty cheap way to "pay for parking". Let's not allow this.

The system that was in place where the street was closed off on event days and residents were issued with passes to enter worked well. It cost someone the price of a body at the entrance to the street for a few hours but the street was not clogged with vehicles and strewn with rubbish after the event. The current system might make money for the Council IF the offenders pay the parking fines. Last I heard the BCC was owed $1.3 Billion in unpaid parking fines. The GCCC dont publish figures that I know of but one can assume the same attitude to parking fines prevails in the GC as does in Brisbane, Of course there is the added risk to the Council of expensive litigation should the unmanaged free for all that occurs on event days was to prevent emergency services access in the event of a fire, accident or illness.

The current situation is unsafe and is having a continued impact on residents who should be entitled to access to and quiet enjoyment of their own homes. We have had instances where we have been very close to being completely blocked in when needing to get to work during game times. I have concerns should their be a serious medical incident or fire in our street during an event at the stadium.

Event days are ridiculous with cars parked everywhere. I advised some people of the ilegal parking and said they would get a fine. The answer was that the fine was fine and they would cop it. The problem won't go away if the fines are just merely increased!

This is an ongoing concern which is not going to improve unless changes are made

Last event was for the Monster Jam, together with the number of cars parked wherever they saw enough room to squeeze into, one 4WD parked right on top of the fire hydrant. The drivers when advised they shouldn't park here as they will get a fine, they said it is cheaper to park there and get a fine, so it doesn't bother them.

Good luck people would definitely be in trouble if there was a fire or emergency.
