We, the concerned citizens/tax payers of the Town of Wolfeboro, are demanding that the elected Selectman address the lack of enforcement of town building codes and ordinances by the town officials. Our town is currently facing a significant problem where the town officials, including the Town Manager, Town Planner, and Code Enforcement Officer, are failing to provide proper guidance, enforcement and verification of the town's building codes and ordinances and sitting selectman are allowing this to happen. This lack of ownership by the selectman to drive proper oversight and enforcement is negatively affecting the properties of town residents and businesses, requires Civil Litigation to resolve issues that are a result of this lack enforcement causing the town and it’s citizens to unnecessary spend money on legal fees, and is allowing unapproved activities that go against zoning rules. It is crucial that the elected Selectman take action to address this issue to ensure the proper enforcement of building codes and ordinances for the well-being and prosperity of our community.
We have been watching and following a prime example of next to zero response for complaints about construction and environmental issues let alone building practices that are against code; in a home being built next door to us. This high dollar home is into year 3 and still no windows but has electricity. The list goes on about our being ignored when we and fellow neighbors bring problems to the attention of the buildings and codes office from the day they pumped out a full excavation with the water running down the road and into Winni.
