On May 8th, 2019 the Treasurer of the City of Manassas made public a list of delinquent accounts who owed taxes to the City of Manassas.
Buried in this report are several delinquent tax bills for Air Distribution, Inc. (ADCO), the company owned at the time by City Councilmember Mark Wolfe. Per the report total delinquencies, including interest and fees, total $12,866.71 in unpaid personal property taxes.
It is a matter of public concern that a sitting council member, who also advocates consistently for higher taxes, would himself owe a substantial sum in back taxes to the jurisdiction he leads.
Therefore, if these taxes are indeed owed, we the undersigned call on Council member Mark Wolfe to pay them to the City of Manassas promptly, as it casts a negative light on our city and basic fairness to taxpayers.

The volume of support for this petition has gained enough traction to warrant a formal briefing for the City Treasurer. I am finalizing a request for a verification of the outstanding balance to ensure the records remain accurate before we present these findings to the full City Council.

City tax evaders shouldn't be allowed to hold a city office. Council needs to take action.
City Council, before you implement any tax rise on the citizens, please rectify the tax debt owed by Wolfe and any other council member. How can we follow your lead if you aren’t setting an example?
If we have to pay why shouldn't you? If this is true then until you have paid you should be dismissed..
