The goal of this petition is to increase awareness for the mistreatment of Amazon employees and support unionization.

Amazon employees have been subject to unfair working environments and rules. Amazon has specific times of the year such as Prime Day and the holiday peak in which production is busier. The peaks in production also show more workplace injuries. Workers are also subject to stressful rules that pressure them into ignoring their basic needs. Bathroom breaks count as time off of work which intimidates workers from taking necessary breaks. The stress and pressure from Amazon not only takes a physical toll on employees, but also a toll on their mental health. The more breaks that they take, can be seen as poor performance and ultimately lead to being fired.

Amazon workers who have tried to bring light to the harsh conditions and make changes for workers have been targeted by Amazon and been fired. Amazon has been coercing workers into following their inhumane rules and intimidated workers from speaking out which is why unionizing is difficult. Bringing more awareness to the situation may force Amazon to be more accountable and treat workers better.
