Petition to the City Council of Chanhassen, MN

Please listen to the citizens in the town!!! We do not want this!

I don't oppose the building, just that the residents are asked to fund the Pohlad family project. I am a Chanhassen resident.

There is no reason for taxpayers to carry the burden of this project. The infrastructure is already inadequate and this project would make the situation exponentially worse.

The town streets are overflowing as is. I hate trying to get around Chanhassen. It's appalling to even think about adding this.

I am a Chanhassen resident who is 100% opposed to ruining my beautiful town in this way!

You do not have the right to decide how our tax dollars are spent. This requires a city wide vote.

No! No! No! I do not support this, we do not need another grocery store, and taxpayers should not have to subsidize this apartment project in no way shape or form. Noooooooooooo If the Pohlad family can not pay the whole bill for this then it should not happen!!!!! Chan stop being so greedy and approving thing that should not happen. Like on our street the mess you approve against our arguments. Where have you been ???????????

I have two issues with this project: 1. It's a government handout that's not applied equitably. 2. It creates too much traffic. 3. A 6 story building isn't ok in an area that doesn't have any commercial buildings taller than 3 stories. 4. Isn't it a risk to airplanes -- the parking garage has lights on top of it. This building will be more than 2x higher. 5. It appears like the city wants to turn Chanhassen into Minneapolis. Public housing anyone? People moved here for a reason.

I am a Chanhassen resident . I do not support this, we do not need another grocery store, and taxpayers should not have to subsidize this project. If the developers feel this will make them so much money they should not ask taxpayers to foot any part of it. And I am not against the housing, just not in that area, it will create a traffic nightmare. Find another spot, like maybe near the transit station at 101.

I am a Chanhassen resident. The road infrastructure cannot handle this. We already have enough apartment complexes in Chanhassen (and grocery stores).

I am fairly new to Minnesota and have lived in Chanhassen three years. Prior to this, I lived in Carver for two after Moving from Miami, Florida. I absolutely love the aesthetics of this town and believe that it will trive even more in the upcoming future. What I do not think will help is adding another grocery store in this location. We have quite a few of them here and Aldi in Eden Prairie is pretty close. I do believe that adding more apartments to the center of the town will devalue the history of it. I am all for bringing in more business. However, not the bad type of business that we have excess amount of.

I oppose the tax subsidized development Aldi Project. There is no need for either in chanhassen, especially with my taxes subsidizing billionaires. The city council members who think it is a good idea, are wrong in their thinking. Why not offer the citizens something of greater value such as citywide Internet or solar programs and trade skill school.

Chanhassen resident. Live downtown. Aldis is the worst idea EVER for the space next to the dinner theater. It takes away from the charm of our chanhassen landmark! I have no idea how they could possibly think that's a good idea? We should be putting in businesses that can benefit from all the out of Towners we get from the theater. Aldis just pushes people to Excelsior or Eden Prairie to find things to do before and after shows. I am strongly opposed to this project.
