I would think prestigious Boston University would have higher standards than to hire a racist assistant professor. You would not stand for this behavior if the assistant professor was white, Asian, Hispanic or any other nationality. Why do you tolerate this behavior from a black professor? If I were a white male student, I would not feel welcome in her class. She is creating a hostile environment for her students. I don't think she sincerely regrets what she said...just the fact that she was caught. Raise your standards and fire her!

Another fact that this world is unfair. This "freedom of speech" is one sided. She should be fired.

Grundy's views on the white male are only making RACISM a bigger problem in this country! Double standards allowed as long as you are not white.

"...we are committed to maintaining an educational environment that is free from bias, fully inclusive..." Boston University President regarding Grundy's comments. She does not in any way fill or intend to meet this criteria.

If Saida was white, this wouldn't need a petition for her to be fired. Her entire career would be in ruin and she would be lucky to be flipping burgers.

Agree she is racist. Problems arise when standards are based on color of skin. She needs to go work somewhere else. Away from young minds - she will most certainly attempt to warp to her way of thinking. I sure wouldn't take her class if white or male.

If Saida was white and making comments like this about Black men and black owned business, she would have been fired already and Boston University would have been fighting off/paying off Al Sharpton... Some people only want equality when it works in their favor.

Selecting a race and sex, and labeling it as a "problem population" is inherently bigoted. Anyone with half a brain can see that. The problem is that there are bad apples in every group and we need to work to clean up those bad apples, not label any one particular ethnicity or sex as a problem. Can't believe how many people are supporting this shitty person who clearly views slinging mud as an acceptable solution to a broad problem. Hope you find yourself at University of Phoenix soon Saida.

Racism of any kind, directed at any group, is indefensible.

She would be fired if she were a white professor making such comments about another population.
