Final supporters
We the owners and tenants of Katameya heights respectfully request that the KH Occupants Union cease the toxic fogging in our compound. (Many complaints were communicated on the facebook page and in person for the past few years but in vain)
In lieu of using the toxic and ineffective fogging, we are requesting implementing preventative measures (larvacide treatment) and more ecological and sustainable solutions.
Solid, unbiased research data is being published almost every month that confirms the dangers pesticides can pose including cancer, liver malfunction, asthma,learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, diabetes, endocrine disorders, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.
Please note, that the current practice in KH has been to fogg 2 times a day every day almost all year round.
Beyond the significant health risks, this practice is severely impacting our quality of life; early morning noise during sleeping and inability to practice outdoor activities ( or even enjoy outdoors) at best times of the day.
Until a safer solution is researched and implemented, we are requesting that further pesticide spraying be put on hold.

I have been reading through all your comments and I am truly humbled by the experiences you have shared regarding this fogging. Your stories are the driving force behind this effort and I am just doing my best to hold the space for what you have started. Thank you for trusting me to help organize these concerns.

Absolutely want this to end. Given we live right next to the road, the fog comes into our home where we live with 2 small children.
Ridiculous that this is happening! Other compounds don’t fog like this. Why is this necessary? Needs to stop!!! This was not told to us when signing to live here.
Please stop the spray or do it between 12:00 and 2:00 at night. We are unable to do any activities with the family in the morning and night and where are at a point to cancel all our contracts and leases at Katameya heights and find accommodation somewhere else
Please! Stop the fogging!! It’s bad for humans and bad for the environment. It makes a terrible noise and is extremely unpleasant. It fills my house with a diesel smell. It’s completely unnecessary.

I'm not necessarily against fogging, but I do not have confidence in the chemicals that are truly used (versus what we may think is used). I don't have confidence that they are properly blended. I don't have confidence that the foggers are well calibrated. And I don't know if any source prevention takes place. Who has oversight over the KH mosquito control? When the fogging truck comes along, I get a double dose of fog from the the front and back streets to my house. Tha'ts a BIG dose of toxins. I bring everyone indoors, especially the dogs as they are much more vulnerable given their small size. Please consider ULV or, better still, misting the trees every other week. Our concerns need to be addressed
