We, the residents of Hildenbrand Hall, request that MUM try alternative, sustainable, and organic methods of dealing with the bug and pest issue in our building. The proposed solution to spray our building over spring break will not provide enough time for us to remove our belongings, so that they are not contaminated with these harmful and toxic chemicals, nor will it provide enough time for the chemicals to be aired out. We plead that the university utilize its creative potential in dealing with this issue, and ask that other methods are tried before turning to a “solution” that will cause harmful side effects to our health.

Here is some information on the possible chemicals that will be used: http://www.anapsid.org/pyrethroids.html

PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION IF YOU DO NOT WANT HILDENBRAND HALL TO BE SPRAYED WITH CHEMICALS OVER SPRING BREAK.

This isn't only a problem in the dorms. I couldn't sleep in the visitors center during retreat because of chemical smells and mold that is still in that building.

It isn't fair to the residents of the building which are students to have to deal with toxic pesticides while they attend class
