We are Jim Herrington and Colleen Mackinnon, President and Vice President, respectively, of the Wilderness Edge Property Owners Association and reside on White Creek Trail and Explorer Drive in the Wilderness Edge Community.
We are writing to ask for your support to petition the U.S. Forest Service, N.C. Department of Transportation, and Burke County Board of Commissioners requesting the improvement of WOLF PIT ROAD between HWY 126 and the Shortoff Trailhead.
As you know, WOLF PIT ROAD is in poor condition and needs to be repaired and regularly maintained by the respective government agencies who have responsibility for WOLF PIT ROAD.

Ridiculous that it has gotten this bad. Someone is gonna pop a tire or worse out there.
Used to be a nice drive but now its just potholes and mud. Fix the road!
My truck is taking a beating every time I head out there. Needs fixed ASAP.
WOLF PIT ROAD is a disaster. How do they expect people to visit the trailhead like this???
So sick of dodging holes on my way home every day. Do something about it.

County needs to stop ignoring us. We pay taxes just like everyone else.
