Attention: Atlanta Public Schools Board of Directors Re: Dwayne Owensby (Mr. O) The parents of Sarah Smith Elementary respectfully request that the APS Board of Directors reinstate Dwayne Owensby (Mr. O) with tenure. Mr. O has requested a return to Sarah Smith Elementary and has been informed that he would need to reapply and start his career over with no tenure and no assurance of returning to our school. Mr. O, as he is affectionately known, resigned his position several short weeks ago to move to Ohio to care for a sick father. Thankfully his father’s health has taken a turn for the best and he has recovered much faster than the doctors had anticipated. Mr. O has a very special place in our hearts. Our kids need him! We the undersigned respectfully request the reinstatement of Mr. Dwayne Owensby with full tenure starting with the 2013-2014 school year.
