We, the undersigned, urge you to reform the current system of hiring laborers for mines, which currently relies heavily on traditional leaders. This system often leads to unfair practices, nepotism, and exclusion of qualified youth.
*Reasons for Reform:*
1. *Unfair Representation*: Traditional leaders often prioritize family ties and personal connections over qualifications, leaving many young people without opportunities.
2. *Lack of Transparency*: The current system lacks transparency, making it difficult to track hiring processes and ensure fairness.
3. *Youth Unemployment*: By excluding youth from these opportunities, we perpetuate high unemployment rates among young people.
*Proposed Solution:*
1. *Establish Independent Hiring Committees*: Create committees comprising representatives from government, mining companies, and local communities to oversee hiring processes.
2. *Implement Transparent and Merit-Based Hiring*: Ensure that hiring decisions are based on qualifications, skills, and experience.
3. *Provide Training and Development Programs*: Offer training and development opportunities to help youth acquire necessary skills for mine labor.
*Demands:*
1. Immediately reform the hiring process for mine labor.
2. Establish a fair and transparent system for hiring.
3. Provide opportunities for youth to acquire necessary skills.
Join us in demanding a fair and transparent system for hiring mine labor. Let's empower our youth and create opportunities for them to thrive!
ive been reading through your stories about how hard it is to get work at the mines and it honestly breaks my heart. people in charge are starting to notice the attention this is getting so lets keep pushing until they actually listen to us.

i cannot believe how much momentum this has gained in such a short time. its proof that so many people are tired of the old ways and want things to change for the youth.

I strongly support this petition. Many young people in our communities have completed their matric and are still sitting at home without opportunities. Despite having the basic qualifications to work in the mines, they are constantly overlooked because of an unfair hiring system controlled by traditional leaders. It's time for a change that puts our educated youth first. A transparent, skills-based hiring process will give matriculants the chance they deserve to work and build better futures.
