PETITION TO OPPOSE CURRENT 212 STUART STREET PLAN

I oppose the proposed 199 foot tower at 212 Stuart st.

As a boston resident I strongly oppose this development- or any high rise developments in historic neighborhoods

The height is excessive by not being in keeping with the adjacent buildings. This new build adds no parking capacity and will add further competition for on-street parking in bay village, and unfair pressure on current residents.

I am opposed to this project. What is the point of having zoning laws if you're going to ignore them? Quality of life has value, and this proposed new development will destroy the quality of life of the current area residents. All future generations will be denied sunlight and blue sky and will be subjected to increased wind and light pollution and noise. Please do not allow profit to be cherished more than people.

I thought governments role in property development was to create and enforce zoning for the well-being of the community not to destroy them!

The residents of Boston proper are opposed to this new planning project as it will most certainly negatively impact the immediate and surrounding neighborhoods, as well as the commons which are a huge tourist draw and is a well known, beautiful, and sunny landmark in Boston. The reason Boston is such a gorgeous city is the zoning laws adhere to keeping Boston a historic and picturesque landscape, unlike many other large cities like New York whose zoning laws do not prevent high rises. Keep Boston beautiful and unique!

City Fathers before our time saw the need to preserve the historic nature of the neighborhood. This giant building would be out of character and would set a precedent for further building and destruction of the historic character of the area.

In addition to the reasons outlined in this petition, I object to the proposed development because the height of the building would destroy the ambience of the neighborhood. The low-rise nature of the surrounding neighborhood is much of what gives Boston its unique, European "flavor" and adds so much to the charm of this part of the city. It would be a terrible mistake to change our neighborhood by squeezing a 19+ story building into a small, historic neighborhood.

I implore all Boston officials to treasure the historical significance of the Common and Public Garden. Please stop rolling over for developers -- we are losing the character of our city. Please respect the height restrictions already in place. PLEASE!

As a resident of One Charles, I support this petition. I am unequivocally opposed to the proposed development for the reasons cited in the petition. I also object to the long construction period that will be required for such a development, which will be a nuisance to local residents.

Lower the height to lessen shadow and wind impact

I do not support building more luxury condos in 02116 to benefit self-entitled upper middle class white people.

I am a property owner in Bay Village.

I oppose this project 100%. I purchased property in Bay Village with the understanding there was a height variance which this project, blows out of the water, if approved.

It is outstanding that this project has received the approval that it has. Aside from the advantages that the developers will see, that the Mayor will undoubtedly receive from the union workers, there is truly no conceivable reason or advantage that will be seen by the city or the adjacent neighborhood(s). The city truly needs more living spaces available for renters - but affordable housing! Our tax coffers will see no great additional revenue from this project.

I oppose this building. Too big, too tall,defiles the neighborhood w/ too much light pollution; overcrowding for already tight parking spaces.

For the reasons outlined herein I strongly oppose this project.
