I love female superheroes but this is dumb to change identities. I had overheard the rumors and thought they were a joke and maybe thinking they were referring to Valkyrie since she is dressed similarly to Thor. Very bad idea to do such identity switches.

Why turn one of your beloved and highly recognizable comic characters into a woman, when the Thor of Nordic mythology is clearly a man. Instead of trying to diversify your lineup by changing or creating female versions of male superheroes, why don't you just go and CREATE AN ORIGINAL, FEMALE SUPERHERO. I do not support this change and I don't think that many do.

the character Thor is not a female, whilst the twist would be intresting, it would just feel wrong turning a MALE God into a female one. that's pretty much MARVEL spitting on the entire mythology of Thor and just as ludricrous as if Athena, Aphrodite and Andraste were gender bended just becuase MARVEL says so

what is it with changing awesome characters into other characters of different genders/ethnicity/race. We love thor, we don't want a female thor. If you want to make a strong female character in that universe then MAKE A NEW FEMALE CHARACTER IN THAT UNIVERSE. jesus christ if you turned black widow into a man people would be pissed so you don't do it. Why lose fans to bring in new ones. this is stupid.

Marketing Execs at marvel had another one marvel famous "writers retreats" and told them they need a new gimmick to boast sales at the point of price rise. Marvel Marketing teams agree that using Diversity as gimmick to boast sales before reverting back to status quo in 2015. Both the introduction of Diversity and then subsequent replacement cause mass media attention which causes short term boast in sale from consumer who don't read comics but think this will be a big moment therefore have collectable value. as result writers are forced to make last minute additions/changes to their original story. It really sad that Marvel uses diversity as gimmick to boast sales, its like saying to minority and woman "the only thing we think your good for is boast sales and getting mass media attention". Marvel has given characters like Storm, War Machine, Captain Marvel (Well they used to but now they have given up) and She-Hulk, little to no marketing. I like most readers want to see greater diversity but using Diversity as "short term replacements" is not the way to go about.

I feel it is a terrible terrible idea to make thor female as A it comes from Norse mythology and is sacrilage to change that B the inscription on the hammer is "he who is worthy" im not sexist or afraid of change but cant they just make a new hero? C thor is classic he is the god of thunder he is in mythologic origin also clsoe to Zeus and Jupiter (greek and roman gods of thunder, both male with beards) by changing him someone to be polite ignorant people might assume thor is in mythology female and then make the god of thunder figure in general female. this is just a desperate attempt to reach out to the female comic market, i dont belive in norse mythology (although the stories are awesome) and i dont like superheroes all that much but Thor is the only marvel character i like other than wolverine and LOki (i like immortals).

...fluck Marvel. First they screw up Captain America, then they have the audacity to kill Wolverine, now they parade some chick in our faces and we're to believe she's Thor even though we all know that Thor has testicles. Again I say fluck marvel...i hope that DC films blows all those crappy marvel films out of the water.

Thor odison HE is the true god of thunder in norse and as it should be in marvel! and this should never change. Others maybe worthy to possess mjölnir but HE is still the only one wholly controls mjölnir its rightful owner!
