We the undersigned residents support a plan to address traffic issues related to Ariel Community Academy and North Kenwood/Oakland Charter School by closing 46th Street between Woodlawn and Greenwood to west bound traffic between the hours of 7:30-8:30 a.m. and 2:30-3:45 p.m. During those same times there would be manned horse joints at the exits of the adjoining alley, blocking any traffic into the alley. Someone would move the horse joints to allow residents to exit the alley. The proposed closing of 46th Street to west bound traffic during specified times is one component of an overall plan to address traffic and safety concerns developed with cooperation of and supported by community residents, the Office of Alderman Will Burns, and North Kenwood/Oakland Charter School and Ariel Community Academy.
