Please sign this petition opposing the proposed drop off procedure at Harmony Elementary School.
Currently, the proposed plan is to have children dropped off on Deer Crossing Drive and Galaxy Drive. Children will then need to either walk a block to get to school and be required to walk through a busy unmonitored parking lot or cross Rotamer Road. This will create unsafe neighborhood streets for the children who are walking to school, for those children being dropped off, and for neighborhood residents.
There are alternative drop off plans that could be considered. One example may be the following:
*The playground could be monitored earlier allowing the buses to drop children off right away rather than waiting, thus blocking the drive through.
Other alternative plans can be developed.
I spent the entire morning looking at maps of the school zone and honestly the traffic plan they proposed on Deer Crossing just keeps getting more dangerous the longer I stare at it. People have been messaging me with their own horror stories about Rotamer Road and it validates everything I felt when I started this because someone really needs to rethink these logistics before we have a total disaster on our hands.

Seeing all these signatures pour in is honestly wild because it proves I am not the only person who thinks these drop off plans are a recipe for pure chaos. I spent all morning scrolling through what people are saying and it feels like we might actually have enough momentum to make the school board rethink this whole parking lot nightmare.

This is a nightmare waiting to happen. My kid is 6 and there is no way I am letting her cross rotamer road alone. Come on people use common sense.

Are they serious? Have they ever seen the traffic on galaxy drive at 8am? Total disaster. Fix this.

The people who came up with this plan clearly dont have kids at this school. My street is going to be a parking lot.
