We are at a precipice in our human journey on the planet. Everyday, we are faced with the reality of losing our pollinators to loss of habitat, not to mention the increase in pesticides. While the non-native Honeybee is the official State of Kansas insect and contributes to the agriculture industry, I believe that if we start at the local level we can draw intrest to the plight of the native bees and other native pollinators and can cause change at the State level. We can help our native pollinators by including native plants in our yards and public spaces. Most people only know the honeybee, I hope to change that. I am sending this petition to our city leaders.
