The breadth and range of influence that Doug has had among his musical peers (and those to follow) is without measure, and reason enough for nomination in and of itself. Ask NASA if they agree...and you will fully understand the scope of this man's impact on the relevance of an entire genre not only of music, but the southern people's musical culture, to whom he is regarded as a national treasure.
