Hi Andre, not sure if you heard but the re-zoning request was denied.

Thank you to everyone who helped with this and the signature petition. The public hearing had as close as I could count 150+- people in attendance. We ended up with approx. 470 signatures probably the biggest petition Ritchot has ever seen. There was some rancorous moments, some got a little heated but for the most part respect and politeness won out. At the end of the night council voted AND WE WON unanimously

Great comment. Hopefully you can join us at the open house this evening. We are working to try and make sure this re-zoning application does not pass. St Adolphe is a great community and sorry that this may making you worry. In the long run I’m sure you’ll be happy with your decision. Welcome to our great community.

As a soon to be resident within Tourond Creek, I am totally against the rezoning. Had I been aware of this happening prior to purchasing and building, I would have really given further consideration and likely decided to move elsewhere. There already seems to be difficulties for them to be selling lots in that area as it is, most of the homes there are show homes. Adding high-density residential vs a commercial space to enable to town to grow will only push people from wanting to build and move there which will be bad in the long run.

Please keep the developers true to their word. Be in charge and tell them no. Please do what is best for the quality of the community that has been built. Thank you.

Too many changes are happening from the original plan of the developers.

This zoning change would be more favourable after the existing multi residential land is no longer vacant

We are against the re-zoning of the commercial land to high density property in the Tourand Creek subdivision.

It is official now- The Public Hearing to discuss this with council is set APRIL 3 @ 7;00 PM at the PIONEER HALL we need as many as can make it to come and voice their opinion. If we do not show up this will likely pass and there will be no chance to stop it in the future. As the application reads now they are applying to have 3 storey high density RENTAL apartments classed as a PERMITTED USE in the Tourond Creek development wherever they had planned on putting Multi family sites. All Phases of the development will be affected.

My apologies I have incorrectly identified the hearing date as March 21 the CORRECT date is April 3 it should be announced in the next week or week after. It will be at the Pioneer Hall at the arena. Sorry for spreading confusion. I will enter further comments as we get closer.

To all. The Public Hearing has been scheduled for March 21st at 7:00PM (TUESDAY). This to allow the citizens to voice their opinion on the proposed zoning amendment. It will be held at the Council chambers 352 Main St.. It is very important that as many as can come, do show up. We will likely have only this one chance to defeat this amendment.

Everyone; the amendment has moved on to a public hearing and after that a second reading. It passed 3 to 1. The public hearing will be held likely in the Pioneer Hall at the arena March 29. We need all concerned to come , it should be at 7:00PM. Also at the meeting I requested that the Urban Study which supposedly backs up the claim that we don't need more commercial space be made available. At this moment it is not available for us to read. Im not holding my breath. I also requested that the Dec 13 2017 council meeting which has disappeared from the municipal web site be put back on the site for all to read. It spells out very plainly what is planned; a must read. We will keep you up to speed on what we know but in the time we have until March 29 we need to get the word out to everyone.

Our community needs more recreational infrastructure development. I mean parks, play structures, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, bike paths, splash pads, basketball/volleyball/soccer/tennis fields to make our community families, especially our children, lifestyle more interesting, joyful and healthy.

No to re-zoning. St. Adolphe needs commercial area in order to grow. Don't like the developer changing the plan that was originally approved. What's next?
