This is so needed as a community gathering place, a pedestrian plaza that will make our town more livable. It would transform our downtown.

Fantastic idea. Every major tourist destination city has figured out that car free zones are huge wins for everyone. I know that there are some merchants outside of the Forest area that have concerns that closing Forst will be too successful and hurt their business. I don't believe that is true and we need to test to see what works for Laguna.

This would only add charm to the city and ease traffic congestion (every bit helps).

Some of my very favorite cities have incorporated this appealing feature to their delightful benefit (thinking of Providence, RI and Madison, WI - even Santa Monica sees the logic!). It certainly seems important to try.

This is an idea whose time has come (actually a long time ago). We have nothing to lose and so much to gain.

As a former resident of Laguna Beach, and now a frequent visitor I wholeheartedly support this effort. The suggested plan would so enhance the shopping, ambiance, and full enjoyment of the beautiful downtown. Fantastic idea!!

Lets keep talking about making downtown a fun place to go, even if it is only a couple nights a week. .

Change always comes with a push back. I don't understand why the city is being pressured by the stores on Forest Avenue to put a stop to the idea of a pedestrian street. Please reconsider as it would be HUGELY beneficial for the City, the residents, the tourists & our dogs. Not proceeding with this plan is shortsighted.

This seems so long overdue for Laguna Beach. I love the idea of getting rid of all those cars and creating a dynamic space where people can gather, dine, enjoy music and relax in the heart of our amazing city! It just makes good sense.

Why not give this idea a chance? We've seen this work all over Europe and it seems like such a user-friendly alternative for Laguna. Let's do it!
