THEY FINALLY DID IT AND CHANGED THE GRADING SCALE!! THIS IS A MASSIVE WIN FOR EVERYONE AT SALEM AND I AM BEYOND EXCITED. LET US STAY VIGILANT TO ENSURE THIS NEW SYSTEM WORKS PERFECTLY FOR US ALL!!
It affects the whole school and it hurts us for college and it makes it difficult on us and our family’s.

Having a normal grading scale would not only hold us to the same standards and accountability as many other greater high schools in the state AND nation, but would also encourage our students to succeed more, with their goals being more reachable, as that is a problem with a lot of my personal friends. Also, it looks better on SHS’s communication with the state education system, as more people will have higher grades, and the federal education system as well. Not to mention that, in addition to the IB program, you’re holding your kids MORE ACCOUNTABLE for college and PREPARING THEM MORE for college.

the 6 point grading scale is honestly the stupidest decision salem ever made. every other school nearby has a 10 point grading scale and here we are with a crappy grading scale. if our scale went to 10 points i would have much better grades along with other students.

A 10 point would definitely boost my confidence in school with my learning, and also boost my gpa. It would be so much easier to just match what the rest of Virginia does than just be different when that’s too much for us students

Our grading scale should match that of all other schools in the commonwealth of Virginia, much less the entirity of the United States public school system.

I’m down go change the grading scale to a 10-point grading scale just like most schools across the US. The 6-point scale really hurts students who take online classes through Virtual Virginia. All students across the state who take a class in Virtual VA have the same learning material and graded assignments. It’s unfair and a big disadvantage for students at Salem to go through the same class as other students but have a 6-point grading scale.

Please for the love of the Lord make this happen. Why do we have a 6 point grading scale if colleges don’t see the difference from the way better 10 point grading scale? We just working harder for no real return. Okay yeah, a^2 + b^2= c^2, but is that gonna get me some bitches, Bucko?
