In light of the compelling data and evidence presented by the parents regarding Rockbridge County restrictive 6/7 pt grading policies, we urge that the school board adopt a 10 pt weighted grading scale
Adopt a 10 point scale, defined as:
90 - 100 = A
80 - 89 = B
70 - 79 = C
60 - 69 = D
59 - below = F
We believe these changes will encourage RCHS students to take more challenging courses and enable them to better compete for college admissions, honors programs, and merit scholarships as well as allow them to be eligible for good student discounts and NCAA sports.
Please include your County district such as Natural Bridge, Buffalo, Kerrs Creek, South River, Walkers Creek or City of Lexington

The administration has acknowledged our petition and requested a formal briefing on our proposal for the school board. We are currently drafting the policy memorandum to ensure our data on college admissions is presented clearly. Expect a full report once the meeting with district officials concludes.

Kerrs Creek. So tired of seeing great students get discouraged because of this outdated system. Change it now!
Buffalo district here. The current scale is putting our kids at a huge disadvantage for college apps compared to other counties. Fix it.
Why are we punishing the kids? It makes no sense to have a different scale than everyone else around us. Do the right thing.
My son is working his tail off just to keep a B. This is way overdue in Rockbridge. Let's get with the times.
Natural Bridge. Needs to happen for the kids future.

Lexington. It is impossible to get a scholarship when your GPA is lower just because the grading is tougher here. Totally unfair.
