We the undersigned call for the scrapping of car parking charges at the Livingston Centre.

Since the charges were first introduced in June 2011, they have increased twice with no guarantee that they will not be increased again in the future. Shockingly there is no exemption for people with disabilities.

We note that comparable shopping centres, such as The Gyle, Hermiston Gait, Fort Kinnaird in Edinburgh all offer free car parking.

We believe that the ever increasing car parking charges at Livingston are deterring people from using the Centre, which ultimately will have a negative impact on the shops and other businesses located there.
