example of leaf blower in action

Many workers in Singapore work in night and need to sleep in day. Examples are doctors and nurses , police and securities personnels , food hawkers , software coders, taxi drivers .

If their sleep are disturbed by noise from leaf blowers operating a few hours in residential areas a few times a week , our security , our health services , and services industries would be severely affected.

Babies , pregnant women , old folks , the sick are other categories that often sleep during day too.

lack of sleep cause lost productivity and health

It's unbearably noisy, especially in residential areas. Blows up alot of settled dusts. Aggrevated by poorly trained workmen who do not realise the nuisance they are creating and sometimes do not even stop when people are walking nearby, thereby posting a safety concern as well.

The noise is really irritating and super loud. Will NEA please ban this ? I am working on shift and it is affecting my sleep often. Worst of all the smell from the blower is horrible.

As Singapore aspires to be a green and sustainable City in Nature in the context of climate emergency, biodiversity loss and public health crisis, it is imperative that we prioritise the use of eco-friendly, nature-based solutions over harmful fossil fuel technology, for the good of our environment and our long-term survival.

When used in the park or nature reserve its noise spook birds n animals. More Dust than leaves are blown up in its operations. A total noise and Dust polluting mechanical device that should not have been approved for use anywhere in Singapore.

We live in a quiet condo compound. Almost everyday for a few hours, leaves blowers will destroy the peace. It is so deafening that the noise can be heard from the living room on my 7th floor unit. It is unbearable from the balcony where I WFH.

Have seen the parks worker using the blower to blow the leaves along the canal. A lot of the leaves ended up being blown into the canal. This will choke up the waterway. And the noise is super noisy!

Buangkok Green HDB area. Everyday can hear the noise for 15 to 20 mins. Sometimes up to twice a day. People need to Work from Home.
