Seletar mall housekeeping side has been using the leaf blower at various weird hours. Be it 3am, 4 am and 5am. Despite writing to them twice, it stops for a period of time. And starrs again.... Writing to the MP also doesnt work..

Leaf blowers which are commonly seen across Singapore are extremely disruptive, the acrid smell of the fumes compromising our respiratory health, the high pitched noise triggering anxiety and other health issues. Why can’t the leaves be swept manually? It’s harmful even for the person running the machines. We live in a cluster of condos with amazing green cover. We have many kinds of birds and other animals nesting around the tree cover and we see them struggling as much as the humans to cope with the noise pollution. Everyday through the week we have one condo or the other running these polluting machines for 4-5 hours at a stretch disrupting the eco system, nesting environment, the calm and peace of the surroundings. Ban the leaf blowers please.

As Singapore aspires to be a green and sustainable City in Nature in the context of climate emergency, biodiversity loss and public health crisis, it is imperative that we prioritise the use of eco-friendly, nature-based solutions over harmful fossil fuel technology, for the good of our environment and our long-term survival.

The noise from leaf blowers is deafening. I live among clusters of condominiums. Every condo has their own schedules. So practically everyday you have leaf blowing in action from the different condos. One condo even has leaf blowing 3x a week as part of landscape maintenance. Another condo has the security guard happily going round the estate first thing in the morning everyday at 8am to blow one or two leaves on the walkway n footpaths. It seems enjoyable for user to see the leaves got blown away fast but the noise it generated is unbearable. Why can't we go back to the old fashion way of using rakes n dustpan for just one or two leaves especially if it is just in a small area. The noise from the nearby east coast Thomson mrt construction line also adds in to the noise. Everyday there's also fogging from different condos. Even with balcony door closed, you can hear the noise. I have reported to One Service. Let's see what they have to say. Someone reported in the Forum page last year but there were no replies

Please raise the public awareness of this issue. Leaves blowers should be banned totally. The environment was well-maintained 5 years ago , without the use of leaves blowers. Please do not torment the already fragile state of the mental health of the nation.

It is a huge daily noise nuisance and causes stress to the community. I am surprised the enivironment ministry authority even allow it .

It's unbearably noisy, especially in residential areas. Blows up alot of settled dusts. Aggrevated by poorly trained workmen who do not realise the nuisance they are creating and sometimes do not even stop when people are walking nearby, thereby posting a safety concern as well.
