After obtaining immediate neighbor approval, the Board of Directors has denied our application for a wooden Cross (which has been deemed a ‘structure’) in the front flower bed of our home.
Removal of the cross has been ordered.
As per our CC&R guidelines, the Cross has been constructed with quality workmanship and design and in harmony with existing structures. The use of natural colored materials minimize any stark visual contrasts to our home. Section 18.03 (e) Lighting provided at night is shielded and not of any annoyance to other Lot Owners. Section 18.03 (f)(iii)
We do not believe that the Cross detracts from nor impedes our neighborhood's aesthetics and we ask for your support in our choice to display the Cross visible from common areas.

Reaching this level of support has been a heavy yet grounding experience. It is draining to be told no by a board that refuses to see reason but the volume of people standing behind us keeps me moving forward.

Freedom of Religion is one of the corner stones of our country. Requiring the removal of the cross is definitely un-American. Someone should probably read the definition of what a structure as defined by Webster.
What a beautiful symbol of what our Savior did for us on that blessed day. I don't believe I can see this as a any sort of "structure" nor can I understand why it would be considered offensive and be made to come down.
Do they (Board of Directors) approve or disapprove of some of the gaudy fountains people have, or just religious things? What next, American flags, how many children you can have?
This is a beautiful cross belonging to a neighbor living very close to our home and we do not feel it is offensive, adversely affecting our home value or the right of the HOA to govern.
The cross is not a distraction to your home or the the neighborhood. Each home is welcome to its unique personal preferences.
I support Freedom of Religion. Leave the Cross please it is a work of Art.
Some people don't know real beauty when they see the cross, or maybe it's a heart of stone thing. I feel it's another slash at our freedom because the cross blends well with your home and sounds like you followed their guidelines.

I support the retaining of the cross. I also believe this to be a broad overreach of HOA’s authority
