The council finally backed down and scrapped those ridiculous parking hikes. Keeping the city center accessible was the only way forward and they knew it the moment we refused to back down. Stay vigilant because we have to keep a close eye on their empty pockets to ensure they do …

Manchester City Council thinks they can squeeze every last penny out of us while we try to keep our local businesses alive. I am currently spending every waking hour dragging their transportation department into the light to answer for this greedy extension. Do not think for a second that their silence means they have forgotten about us because we are becoming too loud to ignore.

The extended parking times has stopped me and lots of the LGBT sports club members that i play with going to canal street afters for drinks, the village has been sadly hit hard by this silly decision

It drives more & more would be spenders to the Trafford Centre; the idea thAt the new parking restrictions mean more people will come to Mcr is unproven. Meanwhile the Trafford Centre is referred to the traffic centre because of how busy it is.

My business has declined by almost 20% since the 8pm parking started. Soon I won't have a business left, like so many others in chinatwon.

The only business celebrating the extended parking hours is NCP, and NCP Is not a viable alternative for most road users... And sadly neither is public transport. Has anyone thought of the safety aspect, when young women park in cheap, secluded areas because of cost? And why the heck do the machines not take 'new' 5p and 10p pieces?

I used to be a regular visitor to friends that lived in the city centre on the way home from work, but now with the cost of the parking and threat of your car being towed away I no longer visit

I believe that the 8pm restriction has had a negative impact on restaurants , bars and cinema attentance . Were before people tended to park up straight after work .
