Petition to Manchester City Council to Reverse Extended On-Street Parking Charges, and Resume the 6am- 6pm tariff zone in the City Centre

Head to Manchester city centred independent restaurant? Nope, head out if town or Trafford centre where parking is free.

Making people pay for parking up to 8pm every night of the week is scandalous. Extorting people and is ruining the high street shops.

The only business celebrating the extended parking hours is NCP, and NCP Is not a viable alternative for most road users... And sadly neither is public transport. Has anyone thought of the safety aspect, when young women park in cheap, secluded areas because of cost? And why the heck do the machines not take 'new' 5p and 10p pieces?

This would help local businesses as well as people who live and work in the city centre

This charge till 8pm I feel does affect all business within the city centre what next tax you for walking down market street if you smoke

I lost all faith in the council when this was brought in, shameful for local business, NQ deserted on Sundays. Might as well pay people to go to the Trafford Centre

I used to be a regular visitor to friends that lived in the city centre on the way home from work, but now with the cost of the parking and threat of your car being towed away I no longer visit

MCC should see what we see: many streets with parking bays that are unused day and night. Commercial sense to make parking cheaper after work and have the bays used. 2hr Max / no return policy does not meet residents needs. Examples: Harter St Bloom St. With pay by phone parking the costs of running parking must have come down ? Why not pass the savings on and extend free parking/cheap parking hours and residential too. The residents parking permit scheme was massively bureaucratic and expensive for tiny benefit. Open that up - make it free to residents and cheap to visitors.

Parking limits are ridiculous for residents

Enough is enough. please reverse these silly parking prices and times.

Killing the city but mostly Subday trade, the council / government are loving fleecing businesses with extortionate business rates so they should at least help keep them to continue to operate and fill they're pockets that way!

Exactly what the council should not be doing, affecting small and independent businesses negatively.

back to 6 as many nice places to eat in the village. which people may want drive in and have food but who really wants to eat at 9 x
