As of January 2nd, 2015,in downtown Cincinnati and Over-the-Rhine, the hours of enforcement for parking meters have been changed to 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 2 p.m.-9 p.m. Sunday. The extended hours are enforced by the city of Cincinnati, who is profiting while the business owners are hurting. We the petitioners believe that the long-term effects of the parking changes will harm our businesses and Cincinnati's overall economy.

The change in parking regulations has already begun to negatively impact downtown businesses by changing the patrons' ability and willingness to frequent the downtown area.

If you believe that parking in downtown Cincinnati and Over-the-Rhine should not be enforced after 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday or at all on Sunday, please sign this petition.

Feel free to contact the ten individuals responsible for initiating this change, and who also are capable of fixing it!

Together we can make a difference for our city.

Updates

January 15, 2015

I have been hearing from so many of you who are watching your favorite local spots struggle to keep doors open because of these enforcement hours. I am spending my time calling the council members daily to demand they listen to the people who actually keep this economy moving.

January 15, 2015

Seeing this kind of momentum confirms that I am not the only business owner exhausted by these unfair meter hours. It feels like the city is finally beginning to notice the strain these policies put on our neighborhood.

Let's try some common sense thinking. If I want to go downtown for dinner and a show beginning at 6:00, and want to park at a meter, I do not want to leave my dinner early just to go feed a meter.

Small businesses are taking the biggest hit with the change. People are less likely to come downtown knowing they have to pay until 9pm and pay during the weekends. This is madness

The new parking hours are ridiculous and unless they are changed back I won't be frequenting downtown any longer. This change is not only harmful to businesses, but consumers like myself as well. Find another way to fund your streetcar!

This is the dumbest thing ever. It makes no sense at all. So if I want to go to a Reds game on a Sunday, instead of trying to find a spot at a meter some where I will have to pay $20 to park in a garage. Thanks a lot.

the city council should be helping the local businesses not filling their own pockets. Want people to respect you, quit doing everything you can to shut down businesses

I am the owner of Limitless Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu on 7th st and this change makes me sick. All my students have suffered for the increased meter times. No one can afford to pay for parking 7 days a week! WE THE PEOPLE DEMAND A CHANGE ASAP!
