​Petition: Support Edmonton and Sturgeon District School Staff for Fair Compensation and Stability in Education

Our support staff is essential to the smooth running of our classrooms and the skills to assist students to learn and become as independent as possible.

Please help end the strike. The students and teachers need them.

I'm an EA and a long term community support worker the Individuals we support deserve better we as supporters also deserve better to be able to take care of our children

We all need fair treatment and honest judgment in this issue. All labour class are human too they are facing inflation as other community members if they get 12 or 15% raise then why not cupe and other unions.

Support workers should have our support and be paid handsomely for the great work they do

Fair pay for hard working people! You owe it to them and to the children they support. You say you value education so put your money where your mouth is. Building more schools is great, but how about you support the people already employed in the schools we have first. Open your eyes, quit being short sighted. You can be the hero if you choose.

Ridiculous the cuts that the government has been getting away with for decades. Support staff work (full-time, by the way) incredibly hard with very complex students in very complex classrooms. Fifteen years ago, even 10, this was a livable wage. We are educated, we are trained, we are knowledgeable professionals. We deserve BETTER. The Boards need to start trimming fat from the TOP, NOT from those who work on the front lines.

They work hard and are the backbone of our kids!!!

It time more funding is given to schools. Support staff are human beings who have to provide for the basic needs of their families. Giving them pennies are not liveable wages.

Support staff works hard in challenging sometimes dangerous situations!! Pay them fairly!!

These amazing human beings are helping our future workers and leaders. They deserve a lot better!

Give support staff a livable wage so they can support our kids, our future ! Education wages shouldn't have a cap! Support staff are the backbones of the schools, they get hit, bit, kicked, furniture thrown at them etc.. And it's okay for them to live in poverty, work 2-4 jobs when all they want is one job to focus on the the students and be able to go home to spend time with theirs!
