We, the undersigners, are calling for the resignation of presiding commissioner Jim Wheatley. Due to either gross incompetence, carelessness, or neglect, Jim has fallen short of his duties and is on the verge of bankrupting Bates County. The non-compliance from the county surrounding the ARPA money is leading to the county owing millions of dollars and preventing the securing of other grants. Because of this, among other things, we are asking for the removal of Jim and for someone to be appointed who can clean this mess up. This petition is also to recall the election if Mr. Wheatley does not choose to resign.

I watched the first meeting and attended the second meeting. I believe to much damage has been done. Mr. Wheatley should resign.

Nothing against Jim personally, but at the end of the day we need people who show up and do the job they were elected to do.

If Mr Wheatley didn't know how to operate the computer, he should have asked for help. He was/is too prideful and now Bates County is in a $3 million mess

Bates County deserves better representation. And a QUALIFIED candidate who can work a computer properly.

Jim Wheatly does not respect his constituents or Bates County overall. If he won't step down, we'll throw him out in a civil and lawful manner.
