The forecast now confirms the heavy freezing rain we requested will arrive on schedule. I am grateful to each of the 107 people who committed to this goal alongside me. Please stay home and remain cautious while the ice accumulates.
Freezing rain should fall from before 5:00AM on February 5th 2014 to 8:00AM or later on the same day and should total at least one quarter inch of ice.
The feedback I have received highlights how much uncertainty surrounds our current winter weather patterns. I am currently organizing the data to better communicate why these specific conditions are necessary for our community.

The steady growth of this effort reflects our shared concern for the safety conditions in Howard County. This momentum suggests that many others recognize the necessity of these precautions during winter weather events.

If we get 100 signatures, I'm sure there will be at least a 2 hour delay thanks to all the freezing rain!

It is often said that one should live one's senior year with no regrets. With the opportunity to abstain from a day of class and not have to make it up, yet simultaneously free up a glorious twenty-four hours for productive endeavors such as sleeping (which would boost one's health) or playing video games (which would reduce one's undoubtedly high stress levels), it is imperative that we have no school.
