In an open letter to employees, The Mayor of Hay Hay River, Andrew Cassidy, has asked for workers of the Town of Hay River to cross their own picket line and return to work for less than members were offered at the bargaining table.
Crossing their own picket line would divide the community, pitting coworkers, friends and family against each other and prolonging the strike.
We, the undersigned, demand Hay River Mayor resign his position because of his lack of respect for the Town of Hay River employees, a fair bargaining process and the community as a whole.

I started this because I felt that the way workers were being talked to was wrong but I never imagined so many people would agree with me. The response has been overwhelming and it is truly your commitment to fairness that keeps this moving forward.

Andrew, when will you stop misinforming (allegedly) members of Council of what is really going on in our Town?
Giving the workers an ultimatum is in now way a responsible stewardship of a municipality. Nice try Mr. Cassidy but its time to go.
