Please sign this petition if you are concerned about the Medfield Class of 2029 class size and think it is mandatory to have at least one designated full-time aide per classroom (for the current school year).
I was just checking the comments again and my heart honestly hurts because the stories about how overwhelmed the teachers are in those crowded rooms are just way too real. I am still waiting to hear back from the board but I am going to keep calling them until someone answers me because these kids cant just keep waiting around for help that should have been there months ago.

Hi Joseph. I do appreciate your concerns about Medfield's budgetary constraints and diversification. I share them, as do most other Medfield citizens WITH kids. The hiring of school aides is probable with reworking the current school budget. Change doesn't always mean higher taxes. Change can simply mean rethinking how to spend existing taxes.

I know it's a lot on the budget, but I feel all classes, in every elementary grade should have a full time aid.

Thank you for organizing this petition. We hope the Medfield Public Schools will address this issue for our children and teachers by assigning additional classroom aides for the 2017-18 year. Going forward, we hope that the district will make a deliberate effort to reduce class sizes.

My son has 25 kids in his class, which I'm told is the biggest first grade class Medfield has had in a long time. That is too much for one teacher to handle all day.

Part of the reason we all live in Medfield is because of the amazing school system for our children. Student to teacher ratios of around 25:1 are too high and prohibit teachers from delivering the quality education that Medfield is known for. We need to do everything we can to get our teachers more help and reduce the student to teacher ratios to a more manageable number.

This needs to be addressed for this class as it will continue to grow as more families move to town. The teachers need more aids or hiring an additional teacher to keep the sizes manageable for our children to be able to learn

Just FYI... I don't know anyone WITH kids who voted for the fire station or town garage... and I know A LOT of people in town.

NO MORE! stop the out of control spending! It's time that the taxpayers without kids in the Medfield schools are heard, I say no to mandatory class aides!
