We, the residents of LaSalle, Montreal, are calling on the local authorities at the Lasalle City Hall to allow car shelters for winter storage on our properties. As winter weather becomes more severe, the harsh snow and ice conditions make it extremely difficult to park and maintain our vehicles. Many residents face damages to their cars due to snow accumulation, ice, and freezing temperatures, which could easily be prevented with the provision of car shelters.
Why Car Shelters Matter:
• Protection from Weather: Snow, ice, and freezing rain can cause substantial damage to vehicles, which could be prevented with proper shelter.
• Security and Convenience: Car shelters will provide a safer and more convenient place to store vehicles, minimizing the time and effort required for snow removal and ensuring that cars are protected overnight.
• Community Well-being: By ensuring that our vehicles are protected, we reduce the burden on emergency services and minimize accidents caused by slippery, snowy conditions.
Our Request:
We are requesting that the borough of LaSalle invest in creating designated areas where residents can set up affordable, durable car shelters for the winter season. These shelters will help protect vehicles from the harsh weather and improve the quality of life for the community.
We urge you to sign this petition and join us in advocating for better winter storage solutions in LaSalle. Together, we can make our neighborhood safer and more resilient during the winter months.
Call to Action:
Please sign this petition to show your support for car shelters for winter storage. We ask the borough of LaSalle to take immediate action and work toward providing these essential shelters for all residents.
The momentum behind this petition highlights a clear consensus among residents regarding the need for better winter vehicle protection in our area. This growing interest confirms that our request for accessible car shelters addresses a significant concern for many households.

This is essential for health and safety reasons as well. Too many people injured from shovelling, too many people injured from slips and falls on slanted driveways. This could all be avoidedz

Would prevent us to have to put the snow from our drive way on the sidewalk or in the middle of the street. The citizen couldn’t care less about the esthetic when our car and drive are buried in 50cm of snow especially the elder ones who are alone and are not able to shovel that much snow.
Please take our request into considerations.
Thank you

I can’t afford to keep paying to the increasing snow removal fees and don’t have the health required to shovel . Why are these still banned ? Please show some compassion. Car shelters are needed

Having the tempos would help all of the renters who park on the street. The spots would not be taken up with snow removed from the driveways
