I spent this morning waiting at the stop with my daughter and watched her shake from the cold while we waited for a bus that was little more than a refrigerator on wheels. Hearing your stories about how many of our children are suffering through these commutes has only confirmed that we are right to demand better conditions.

Seeing this grow makes me feel like we might finally get these buses warmed up before the kids step inside. My own child complains about the cold every single morning so knowing other families feel this frustration gives me a lot of hope.

I ride the bus is every day and will be for another two years it is pretty sad we don't get warm until 15 minutes from the school when I'm on the bus for an hour I bring a blanket on the bus to keep her in the morning
This was the same when i went to high school. Always had to sit on frozen seats && would basically have to fight for the seat with the heater under it.
Hopefully this helps. I didn't know this was an issue.I assumed the bus driver would start the bus early in cold weather it's common sense. I hope you recieve all your signatures so your passengers don't have to suffer during the cold winter mornings just to get their education xo KATELYNN ox

They need to start the buses prior to picking up our kids! Its freezing on those buses!!!! I went through it when I was in highschool! We all dreaded the hour bus ride in the freezing cold in the winter months!
This absolutely needs to happen. Winters are harsh and the buses were freezing.... I always had a blanket with me and wore my winter jacket plus mitts and hat while travelling to school.

#1. The buses should be started early to provide heat. #2. What happened to the coaches? Nice hard vinyl seat to ride in the winter. #3. Last year my child was told he wasn't allowed a blanket as he "misused" it. That lasted one day. #4. Twice the late bus had "forgot" to pick him up to bring him back to White River. While it may be true, there are not many who are left going to Wawa for school, it doesn't mean that we let the ones who do freeze and be forgotten. We all pay tax dollars. High school students alone log approximately 152,000kms on that highway during their 4 years. They get up early and get home late. Give them some compassion for what they do everyday and for God's sake get them some heat!!!
