Hate is hate regardless of what board the perpetrator's mother is on. What would happen if the roles were reversed? The girl would be expelled in a heart beat. You're teaching kids that those who have parents with influence within the school can be given a pass when it comes to hateful comments. This is an absolute dhame and no child ever deserves to be put through this. Action needs to not only be taken against the perpetrator, but also the school for treating this girl unjustly.

Not only should the bullying child be expelled, but she should be facing extreme hate crime charges, and forced to be properly educated about the science of chromosomes and how skin colour is merely a physical trait. What makes a human being disgusting, is the personality. What is even more disgusting is the fact that children are taught 'hate', they are not born with it. It is developed from their nurturing or lack there of. Their family, their enviroments. Racism in the home and around the child is what stems her brutality. The bully should be severly punished by the law, the mother should be suspended at least off the school board for trying to sweep such a horrendous act under the rug because her daughter is the villan. The daughter should have to complete tons of community service, in fields of helping the less privileged to enlighten her why she should always be kind. There's too much ugliness in the world and people like that are mentally poisoned and need to be a positive change instead of a negative voice. Being a fellow Canadian and also from Albert, I am here to say we are not letting this slide, this can't be a slap on the wrist. The family of the bully should be embarrassed to have raised such a disgraceful person.

Money or social standing must stop influencing how racist white people are held accountable for racist behaviour. This isn't about making an example of this girl, this is about holding people accountable for intolerable ideology & beginning to change how we react when victims of overt/discreet racism share their stories.
