We request that Bristol City Council upgrades the zebra crossing outside St. Albans Church on Coldharbour Road to improve the safety of our children when journeying to and from Westbury Park School. Traffic frequently fails to stop at this zebra crossing endangering our children and we need to take action BEFORE a serious incident occurs.
Please sign the petition to show your support and indicate if you or your children have ever experienced a "Near Miss" on the zebra crossing. It would be helpful if you could also indicate if cars have ever failed to stop while you were waiting at the crossing.

I spent this morning reading through the stories you sent about near misses at the crossing and it confirms exactly why I started this. Your experiences are the fuel I need to keep pushing the council to finally take the safety of our children seriously.

Seeing so many of you share your own experiences at this crossing confirms that my fears for our children were not misplaced. This momentum is building because we all know the danger is real and we refuse to wait for a tragedy to happen before we demand change.

So many close calls. Drivers are always on their phones too. Just fix it.
Right outside the church and school area! Should be the safest spot but instead it is the most dangerous.
Used this crossing for years with my daughter and have had 3 near misses. Its a deathtrap.
Totally agree. People treat Coldharbour Rd like a race track. Needs a pelican light or something way more visible.
I walk this way every morning and it is terrifying. Drivers just dont look and fly straight through. Something needs to change before a kid actually gets hit.

Cars never stop here. I wait with my son and we have to step out into the road just to get them to acknowledge we are there. RIDICULOUS.
