The recent fees hike is a clear violation of section 75(1)(b) of our Zimbabwean Constitution. More so, the fact that the Administration did not consult the Student Representative Council is a clear message that they intend to revoke our opinions as students, most importantly, our parents as well who are civil servants earning their salaries in RTGS which are below the poverty datum line. Considering this, it violates the Sustainable Development Goal 4 which ensures education must be affordable, equal and qualitative. More so, this dollarisation violates the law of Zimbabwe as well as the financial policies. Education is for all, however, if this is gazetted, it remains only for the privileged.
#Feesmustfall.
the fees structure is unrealistic where can our parents get that amount not to mention the USD part , no single person in USD then why should the fees be paid in a foreign currency isn’t it going again the goal of affordable education???? # fees must fall and be paid in local currency
