Mining profits is temporary-and probably in the wrong hands after all-whilst tourism is forever, and for the people.I thought the new WOMAN in charge is for GOOD only.?

Please put down greed and look into the future. Mining will destroy our delicate environment. The public is kept unaware of this. Mining and prospecting happens all the time without the public being aware or being notified. Things luke this should be very much more in the limelight and take centre stage!! This involves everyone. We all love Goanikontes and our heritage and the surrounding desert. We all love the Namib Desert. This is why Namibia is called Namibia!!! Save our delicate desert please.

Mining at or near Goanikontes is a no go and would be another step to destroy our desert and Goanikontes as well tourism in that area.

Mining is harmful for the environment in all the respects. Its irresponsible to do in the protected area and PA and all who work in adjacent industries, aiming at sustainability which should be part of the bigger effort to protect this only planet we have, should unite and fight. We fought a similar case in Balule, South Africa and successfully.

It is absolutely ABSURD that mining should be allowed in a geological area older than 450 million years old. The moon valley is home to such unique living and none living organisms, it is a tourism Gem of our country contributing to a large income in our industry! The Namib desert is the OLDEST desert on EARTH! It should be conserved and protected! Our deserts are the reason we have tourism Assess the repercussions of this horrible idea!

What else does the mining industry want to destroy? If you take the tourism, you cripple the country.
