I have been spending my nights reading through the personal stories you are leaving in the comments and it reminds me exactly why this battle for our basic dignity is worth the exhausting fight. We are currently working on a formal brief to present to local officials so they can no longer look away from the people this bill directly harms.

Seeing this kind of momentum feels like a weight finally lifting off my shoulders. I am overwhelmed by the realization that so many of you view the safety of my friends as a nonnegotiable priority.

RIDICULOUS waste of tax money. governor needs to veto this immediately. stop passing garbage laws that just make life harder for everyone.
I fully agree with your case, but saying that it’s Constitutional support comes from Ammendment 9 is a little vague and isn’t a very specific law to build upon. I recommend trying to get your legal basis from Executive Order 1 signed by McAuliffe in 2014 which prevents discrimination of gender identity and sexual orientation in the workplace. You can build upon this and apply it to restrooms in public places.

This bill is a disaster waiting to happen. The state needs to focus on real issues like the budget and crumbling roads instead of policing bathrooms. Just leave people alone.
