Samuel Adams has deliberately omitted God from its new ad citing the Declaration of Independence. In Samuel Adams’ July 4 commercial, a bartender asks, “Why name a beer after Samuel Adams?” He adds, “Because Samuel Adams signed the Declaration of Independence. He believed there was a better way to live.” Then the man recites the Declaration of Independence – but he omits “endowed by their Creator” from the segment. “All men are created equal,” he states. “They are endowed with certain unalienable rights: Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” He finishes the beer spot with, “Smooth, flavorful. We bow to no kings. Samuel Adams Boston Lager, declare your independence.” But when Samuel Adams was asked why it omitted the Creator from its ad, the beer maker defended its decision and said it is prohibited from mentioning God in its advertising. Purposefully altering the Declaration of Independence is deceitful and shameful, especially to our troops and Vetrans. Sign this petition and show your support requesting the Army and Air Force Exchange Services no longer carry this beverage on Military Instalations.
