Cities need to beef up their own animal by-laws to protect pets, since the OSPCA is hesitant to enforce its own law,.

Please do not own a dog if you can't give them love, warmth and safety! We are going through frigid cold temperatures and we are told not to expose our skin. Just because dogs have a fur coat doesn't mean they can't get cold. Please keep them inside and don't leave them out too long! When you bring your dog in feel their paw pads and that will tell you how cold they are. Please give your dog to a proper home who will show them love if you can't keep them in a warm loving home.

If Environment Canada is saying exposed skin can freeze in minutes... why would you think pets are immune to this?

Dogss need to be protected from the elements of weather, by bringing them in our of the cold. If it is not safe for a human to be outside in frigid weather, then it is not safe for a dog either.

unless you yourself would stay out in the freezing cold temps DON'T do that to your pets! Just because they have fur coats doesn't mean they are immune to the cold. The punishment should fit the crime .We need many stiffer laws concerning cruelty to animals
