I've never been in a class like this where the professor is an exam proctor with zero transparency on what is being tested.

I agree with this petititon. I graduated high school in the top 15 % of the class. When I took this class and failed, I became mentally depressed. Mind you, I studied at least 5 hours a day. Weekends longer, and still failed. Even Alaie on the first day of class posted negative comments on the powerpoint slide, and laughed as if she has no soul. Any professor who does this has no shame. Even on the final exam, she said today is a great day, because my class will be smaller for BIOL102 My dream have been shattered, and Im in financial ruins after leaving Hunter. Investigation should be conducted

I took my first exam yesterday and it was so hard wtf. Her lectures are not as detailed as her test. I have sheppard and is currently taking this over the summer but bro come on. This is ridiculous. I feel as though the questions asked go past the scope of this class. Hunter needs to evaluate this class and its professor. Not saying that they need to revamp the course but most definitely the exam questions. I understand that the professors earned their PhD and want to put that degree into some good use but these questions are far from intro undergraduate level.

Awfully hard for an intro course, it kills your pre med dreams and studying does not guarantee a good grade. Dr. Alaie is a nice profession and often cracks jokes in her lecture class. You think she's great until you see your exam gradeand everything goes down from there. It's such a difficult class and Hunter honestly does it to weed you out sooner, they don't care about your dreams, they just want very little people to join their pre health group, CRAZY HARD. I get anxiety even writing this review.

This course BIO 100 is terrible in Hunter college because of professor Alaie .Her exams do not test your biology knowledge but rather how well you can decipher her convoluted questions and answer. Knowing the material and concepts does not guarantee a good grade. Feels like they have been made by someone that doesn't know English. Questions on her exams need to be reviewed and reconstructed sinnce they don't make sense. Also, she hides her exam average score statistics. Moreover, you don't get the exam back or to practice question. Due to this class it kills opportunity of pre med students to advance into medical school.

Way to hard for an intro course. The questioning is convoluted and you need to do more than just know the material. Of course, there’s no way to practice because there are no practice test, no slides for review, just you, lecture notes, and your textbook.

Way too hard for an intro course. Freshmen should not be weeded out their first year, it isn't fair

I'm very peeved with these tests, and the fact that there is no practice material whatsoever and that we can't study off our past tests.

Just even thinking about taking the class gives me anxiety. The formatting of the exams are always just crazy.
